Gussie Greene Community Center Computer Lab

The lab is located at the Gussie Greene Community Center at 2012 Success Street North Charleston, SC

The lab houses 11 computers, with 3 held for replacement and/or expansion at the center.

Comcast is providing the installation and Internet Service. Thanks Comcast!

Besides serving as a public computer lab, Clemson University and the College of Charleston would like to offer training programs to the local population.

The computers utilize the Ubuntu Linux distribution with the Edubuntu add-on packages.

The participants in the program development include, but are not limited to (alphabetically): The Charleston Linux Users Group (LUG), The City of North Charleston, The Clemson Institute for Economic and Community Development, The Clemson Restoration Institute (CURI), The College of Charleston, Comcast, and The Free Linux Personal Computer group (FLPC).

This project is primarily designed to improve the range of opportunities available to the local population. We hope to expand it to other neighborhoods in the near future.
