The aim of this project is to build a tight, yet diversified community of CS educators interested in incorporating HCI into undergraduate CS curricula. It follows a special session at SIGCSE-2002 where a group of 40+ participants expressed interest in attending a workshop on this topic (see References 4?).
This community-building initiative is being implemented through a four-day workshop and two follow-up reflection meetings at SIGCSE symposia. Its objectives are to:
The overall aim of the initiative is to create a community of educators able to incorporate the HCI Knowledge Units in CC’01 within their own curricular programs and able to support each other in this endeavor. The four-day workshop was held on the campus of the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC in May 2003. Follow-up meetings are meant to help strengthen connections among members of this community.
