Explore the state-of-the-art in human-computer interaction.

This is an individual assignment. You must work on your own (but you may talk to the instructor and/or a librarian).

Find one journal article related to user interface design and human-computer interaction from the ACM Digital Library or the IEEE CS Digital Library.

Here is a list of academic HCI conferences to explore.

The article should explore a research (or application) area of HCI and should talk about the UI design of a particular system or approach. It should be something you are interested in learning more about during the semester. The article should have a reference/bibliography section at the end. (No Wikipedia articles or other Internet-only articles.)

  1. Submit a printout of your document at the beginning of class on the due date. Your document should be typed and formatted appropriately.
    • Attach a printout of the original article (annotated as described above).
  2. Be prepared to present what you learned from your article to the class. Your goal is to introduce this state-of-the-art HCI topic to your classmates.

Your grade will be based on the depth/quality of your work (e.g., explanation, questions, etc.), and your class presentation.
