2. Three User Personas

Adam

Adam: Persona for the user group “ College Student”

Adam is 19 years old. While not getting drunk [...] on the weekends, he spends his weekdays completing the undergraduate music program at a well-known college. He has no job, therefore he is always strapped for cash. He’s a video game guru, spending most of his weekday nights playing mortal kombat 2. The attire he chooses to parade around in is of second-hand quality. For his latest music composition class, he has a gargantuan project to complete. Currently, he is experiencing writer’s block, and gains some inspiration from our music software. He would only use it for inspirational purposes, until the job gets done.

Booch

Booch: Persona for the user group “Amateur Composer”

Booch is 53 years old. He has a blue-collared job working 9 to 5, 5 days a week. Booch is pretty much a hermit, living alone with 10 cats and his 20 inch TV. Two years ago, he bought a cheap computer and is persistently learning more and more about the basics of computing. In his spare time, serenades his cats with his guitar. With his mild experience in both music creation and computing, he is desiring a new way to express himself using technology. While trying to develop an original musical composition, he was stuck. After learning what google is, his searched for an inspirational tool to fix his problem. In the future, he’ll continue tinkering with this software, learning it’s ins and outs.

Steinberg

Steinberg: Persona for the user group “Professional Composer”

Steinberg is 37 years old and married with two kids. He has been adamant in his profession, to the point that he spends little time with his family. He’s a work-a-holic. His current project is developing the soundtrack for a PS3 game. It’s an action game. The bad thing about this is that he writes mostly for romantic comedies in the movie industry. He’s totally screwed due to his lack of experience in the action genre. Becoming exhausted with listening to other peoples work, he decided to use our software to take these examples of action-based music, and spit out something inspirational.
