Ethics Declaration

This assignment asks you to read and respond to the ACM Code of Ethics.  The Code of Ethics can be found here. In particular, you should submit a response to the code, structured as follows:

An Imperative Number has the form #.# where the #s correspond to section and subsection number in the Code.

Responses can take one of the following forms:

• Agree: you agree without reservation to the imperative as written
• Agree subject to interpretation: your agreement to the imperative is based upon an interpretation of the meaning of one or more words or phrases.  You should indicate the words and how you interpret them.
• Partially agree: you agree with part of the clause and disagree with the remainder. You should indicate which parts you agree with. For the parts with which you disagree indicate which parts and why.
• Disagree: you disagree with the clause. Indicate your reasons.

You should have 80 answers in your response, one for each numbered imperative.  Prepare a hard copy. At the bottom of it, please sign in ink.  Treat your submittal as an actual commitment you are making to obey those imperatives with which you agree.

Note: your written comments will be evaluated on the basis both of their contents and of how well they are written.
