Empire FC (formerly the Homestarz Soccer Team)
At the College of Charleston, Computer Science transcends the walls of the classroom and is a common connection amongst a group of soccer enthusiasts. Depending on the time of year, you will find a soccer or futsal team comprised of faculty, students, alumni and others who have an interest in computing and crushing the stereotype of the computer geek! Regardless of the final score, all who play and cheer from the sidelines agree this is a great way to build a sense of community and have some fun away from the keyboard. Of course, you're sure to find some of the best new technology being sported by the players too.
